So today i decided to further develop my ideas by making a series of videos, compositions etc.I felt that everything worked well and that the videos of the parcels unfolding in the water took on an almost plant form.I have noticed that my theme has started to move away from the word ‘rebel’ and that some of the parcels have started to take on some kind of creature/alien form, along with an almost plant like form when in the sea.I guess I am ok with it taking this turn as it is an interesting form/idea which is allways welcome.

#daytoday Part 2
Today I looked at what has worked well in the #daytoday daily project.
Looking back at the photo’s I realised that using 2D work as 3D work worked well, stop motion, video’s,photo’s,mixed media and installations mixing the organic with the non-organic.
I wanted to continue the theme of rebel/Riot as I felt that it was a good strong theme with plenty of potential.I want to mix organic with non-organic again and also see the effect that both can have on each other.
I decided to wrap the bricks that i had found in the mixed media painting which had been used previously.I soon found that the parcels started to take on a different form, one looking organic and the other started to become creature/alien like. This is not what I was initally expecting would happen.Placing organic objects in and around the parcels really created quite a nice contrast which i found to be sucessful.
#daytoday day5
Today i focused on the story of a man who was trampled to death by prison guards and who’s family have finally been given an apology.I focused on the word failure. Then moved down the path of police brutality, lack of empathy or safeguarding.I feel that the deaths of victims are often covered up and alot if it is racial aswell.I also don’t think we know the full number of deaths each year related to police brutality especially in America.

#daytoday day 4
Todays project i focused on the word ‘rebel’ a word which seemed to be used quite alot to discus Boris Johnsons antics during the latest question time.I thought about what it is to rebel and what things can grow from rebellion.First of all I went for a walk in the surrounding area and took photo’s/video’s of things I felt displayed rebellion such as rubbish throwing, breaking fences, broken objects, stop signs etc I then collected some organic and non-organic items in order to use together.I wanted to reflect what can grow from rebellion/riots.

Today’s article reflected the harsh atmosphere that evacuees faced in Britain 80 years ago due to a clash of classes and culture.Evaquee’s were seen as filthy and some houses weren’t allowing them to use the cooking or washing facilities. In a report from North Wales it was said ‘there is a nasty spirit among the mothers and some of the children. Some of the children were so filthy that the homeowners would wash them in carbolic baths. This made me think of the clash of classes and how they saw the evacuees as dirt invading there lives and a clash of cultures. This is why i decided to use oats which is a food associated with the lower class and to ‘dirty’ the middle class belongings with it.I used a white sheet to represent how the homeowners thought they were pure good people doing the ‘right thing’
#daytoday Day 2
Today’s piece came from two articles i noticed in the Edinburgh evening news. These articles focused on eviction.I tried to think of the emotions connected with eviction and what eviction can lead to.There is also significant evidence of homeless people who face mental health issues and people with mental health issues struggling to pay rent arre
ars.I decided to ask fellow classmates to shout out what they think is associated with eviction in order for me to draw it.I then destroyed it to show the power eviction has on peoples lifes I then tried to mend it to show how lifes effected are very slowly mended together.

Today i viewed a variety of different stories and decided to focus in on male ‘trophy hunters’who collect monkeys as trophys.I developed this idea and decided to research into the pshycology behind the male ego which apparently is an issue which stems from child development issues.I decided to create a final piece based on the fragility of the male ego, where pieces are burnt away and haphazardly s

titched back together again.I also wanted to use an abstract shape formed from the shape of the vagina as another name for it is ‘flower or fairy’ which makes you think of something fragile and weak when it is actually very robust and strong.I liked the irony of this being used to represent the frailness of the male ego.
